Legions of Lupines
Jun 01, 2020 03:47PM ● By Linda StagerMy grandma’s gardens were loaded with lupines every June when I was growing up. Whenever I see lupines now, I am filled with the memories of my grandparents’ home—it was brimming with love. When I found out a few years ago that my friend had a large patch of lupines growing in his field, on Cherry Flats Road near Covington, I immediately asked him if I could go sit in the field and surround myself with these wonderful flowers. Of course he said yes, and my annual journey there early in the morning has become a tradition. Here is the view from the middle of the lupine patch. Ahhhh.
