Plush Pooch Pumpkins

Furry Harbingers of Halloween Hit Mountain Home

Dressed for the season, two ghoulish visitors graced our doorstep this crisp October morning, with loyal master, Stephen Gunzenhauser, in tow. Buddy and Princess Diamond were a sight to see in their orange jack-o-lantern sweaters walking down Water Street towards our office.

Buddy, proclaimed as the world’s largest cock-a-poo and Princess Diamond, a pug originally belonging to Neil Diamond’s son heeded Stephen’s commands when presented with a crunchy bagel crisp. Sit—stay—down—stay—OKAY GET IT! The two raced towards Stephens’s feet to gobble up the bagel crisps. After their little show, the curious canines raced around the office taking full advantage of every smell they could find.

Stephen Gunzenhauser, an internationally recognized conductor and Grammy nominee is best known in these parts for his role as artistic director and conductor for the Endless Mountain Music Festival (EMMF). The Endless Mountain Music Festival is an annual two week festival in Wellsboro and Mansfield, which celebrated its second season this year. The festival prides itself on bringing world-class artists and special events to our community.

Stephen and wife Shelly of Avondale now spend many idle hours in their Wellsboro vacation home. Stephen and Shelly fell in love the area when they rented a cottage on Pine Creek so Stephen could recuperate after surgery.
